In the car accident, both Brigitte and the professor were injured. The guests lied to Alan that Brigitte died. It should have ended sadly but Brigitte runs after Alan who thought she was a ghost at the hosiptal car park but actually she was not slightly bruised and they went off together on his motorbike. I would rather a sad conclusion.
