Alan Tam is a playboy cum jean salesman who has never been seriously in love. Brigitte Lin is engaged to a professor who is the same faculty as her in the University. As their research is on Love, they picked Alan to experiement with. He falls in love with Brigitte, learns Japanese and becomes a more responsible young man only by a little bit. As a result of spending a lot of time with him plus Alan's strong pursuit, Brigitte also falls in love with him. Caught between 2 men, Brigitte decides to marry the Professor but changes her mind at the last minute. Alan causes an embarassing scene at the wedding ceremony between Brigitte and the professor. He even causes a car accident after the wedding for the wedding car whose passengers include both Brigitte and the Professor. Will Brigitte die and leave Alan alone? Click for the conclusion of Other Side of Gentlemen.
Alan's acting is stiff and a chore to watch. The script is not too great either. I never knew that plastic jackets were ever in fashion. Maybe never after they watched this show. No chemistry between Brigitte and Alan. Considering that the professor is conservative and boring, yet there was more rapport between Brigitte and the Professor (look at the driving scene above).
The DVD contains subtitles in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Thai, Vietnamese, Spanish.
