The film starts with Brigitte Lin (acting as Mei Fung) forging her boss' signature for HK$500,000. This is 1 of those rare shows where she shows fear and timidity as she withdraws money from the bank. Tony Leung plans to use the money for investment but lost it by gambling. Both of them journey to Thailand to visit Tony's uncle to borrow money but failed. While out on a boat in Thailand, Brigitte accidently fell into the water because Tony tried to jump overboard. He lets go of her hand and she gets cut by another boat. Meanwhile, she is rescued by a Vietnamese refugee boat. Meanwhile Tony sends her father to the old folks' home and starts dating the daughter of his boss. Brigitte manages to get back to Hong Kong and meets up with her best friend. With the help of her best friend, she goes for plastic surgery and recovers her looks. Tony plans to send their son to USA for boarding school, Brigitte's father confronts Tony and is accidently shot fatally by the Police. Brigitte gets very angry and gassed the home when their son is out. Click for the conclusion of Lady In Black.
The scene in the sea is pretty awesome as it shows how versatile an actress Brigitte is. Normally such scenes are limited to actors instead of actresses. In this film, she gets very wet in the sea as well as the rainy scene outside the husband's house.
