A charming rogue, Andy Lau is the orphan son of the leader of the martial world, Cheung Man. Brigitte Lin is the foster daughter who is brought up to be a tomboy because her sect leader (Cheung Wan) wants Brigitte to be her successor as the Leader of the Martial World and Leaders normally have male characteristics. She falls in love with the dashing Andy and her character transforms from a tomboy to a lady in the show, from a soloist in martial arts to a dual act with Andy as their martial arts is enhanced whenever they shower love on each other. They kill the villians to avenge their parents. A show with plenty of humour and romance. The last round of fighting where the swords flew whenever Andy and Brigitte move their arms is so reminiscent of the HK black and white kungfu movies/TV shows of the sixties.
Brigitte is pretty convincing as an innocent and unspoilt young mistress who is so engrossed by a dress which she is not allowed to try.
An amusing show with all the right ingredients ie. Andy Lau, Brigitte Lin, swordfighting, romance, treachery and comedy!
Also available as a PC-based game picts based on the show in Chinese.
Brigitte was a nominee in the Best Actress category for the 12th HK Film Awards in 1992 for her role in this show.
