When all is lost, Leslie is back with the flower to make Brigitte's hair white again but the fire burns up the flower. Nevertheless, Brigitte finally realises the effort Leslie puts into obtaining the flower and she forgives him and her hair turns back to black. Thus love conquers all and the misunderstanding is cleared up even though it is kind of late as both lovers died in the fire.
